Separating? Don't forget to create a new will

It may not be the first thing a person who is separating thinks about, but creating a new will is one of the initial steps that should be considered upon separation, says Toronto family lawyer Kenneth Fishman.

Having a new will is important because, for instance, if parties separate and are not yet divorced, any will that is in existence will still likely remain in force, says Fishman, an associate with Basman Smith LLP.
